![]() I have logged an issue with Torchlight 2 support (still waiting to hear back) I suggest everyone here does the same to make sure it gets looked at. Honestly I think all they did was buy enough time for the server to boot their characters. I added the game to the Firewall and did DNS flush, all of these were considered "fixes" by different people. During this time I exited Steam/Torchlight 2 and everything in between. Eventually there is some sort of inactivity timeout that "boots" your character out. My understanding is that the server keeps a "ghost" of your character logged in. It should ask if you wish to force the "other" to disconnect and you'll just have to log-in again once "everyone" from the account is forced to logout. (Note that this doesn't fix the problem if it happens again)Ģ - Runic Games made a critical change to fix the issu on BOTH their server and the game and reset the servers.Īlso, a quick but working way of doing a fix for Runic Games is simply by adding a "force logout" option whenever the server gets a "duplicate" error. This might be due to the fact that they made it so that players get "offline" locally whenever they loose connection to the host/server, but didn't put any kind of (working) condition script that gets the player "offline" from the server view.įor players who gets this issue, it seems like the only way to gets online again is :ġ - If the server reset and all player are forced offline. (Or they put one that isn't working at all.) If you alt+F4 or crash while playing onlineįrom what I have read from users who got the same problem as us, it seems that Runic have forgot to put a safe-loggout measure to the server where whenever a player lost connection to the server, he gets logged out. If you loose connection to an online game and forcely gets "offline" You join a hosted game and the host quit while you're still in the game. It seems that there are a major problem with any forced disconnection from the server. That problem happened 15min ago, and still i can't login. After that, i tried to login, but it said "duplicate login" and i cant login. Suddenly, i forced to be logged out cause of server problem. See this article for further information. My collection of answer to this issue, gathered from different threads over time: If you run regular Time Machine backups on your computer, you might be able to recover a previous version of your game save. Please be aware that we cannot troubleshoot any issues that may arise from using this option, so do so at your own risk. This won't always work, but it's worth a shot. If your version of Windows has been configured to save earlier copies of your files, you may be able to simply right click on your game save file and choose Restore previous versions… to revert your save. Once you have tried everything else, there is one last thing you can do, but make sure you've done the steps above first. Try launching the game to see if that makes a difference.
